Telogen Effluvium

Telogen Effluvium
Telogen Effluvium

Telogen effluvium occurs when many hairs suddenly enter the telogen (resting) phase of the hair growth cycle. Sudden hair loss over the entire scalp begins several months after a major stressful event. Although widespread hair thinning is most characteristic of telogen effluvium, hair thinning begins on the sides of the head and is partly covered over by hair from the top of the head.
