  • Overview of Abnormal Heart Rhythms
  • For cardioversion, a team of doctors and nurses use a machine to deliver an electric shock (a defibrillator) to treat some abnormal heart rhythms. The defibrillator paddles are placed on the chest. The shock they deliver can sometimes change an abnormal rhythm into a normal one.
