Kaposi Sarcoma (AIDS-Associated)


Kaposi sarcoma is a vascular tumor caused by herpesvirus type 8 infection. AIDS-associated Kaposi syndrome is an aggressive, multicentric tumor that may involve the face, trunk, mucosal surfaces, lymphatics, or GI tract. Lesions appear as bluish to violaceous macules, plaques, or tumors.
