    Erythema Nodosum

Erythema nodosum is a form of panniculitis characterized by palpable, tender, and red or violet subcutaneous nodules most typically appearing on the shins. It most often accompanies systemic diseases (eg, streptococcal infection, sarcoidosis, TB, inflammatory bowel disease, disseminated fungal infection) or ingestion of drugs (particularly oral contraceptives) but is often idiopathic.
