  • Funduscopic features of nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy include microaneurysms and hard exudates (top, toward the bottom on the image) and dot and blot hemorrhages with cotton-wool spots (bottom). Hard exudates are typically yellow. Cotton-wool spots are white and have indistinct borders.
