Structural integration (a manipulative and body-based practice) is based on the theory that good health depends on correct body alignment. It is a form of deep tissue manipulation that is typically done over a series of sessions. Practitioners believe that they can correct the alignment of bone and muscle and thus restore good health by manipulating and stretching muscles and fascia. However, neither the basic principles nor efficacy of this therapy has been proved1.
