Ectopic Heart

Ectopic heart is a condition in which the heart is located outside the thoracic cavity, usually in the ventral cervical area. It occurs most commonly in cattle. Displacement through a defective sternum or through ribs usually results in neonatal death, although longterm survival is possible with other types of displacement.
