Markedly regenerative anemia with frequent large polychromatophilic erythrocytes (reticulocytes) and increased anisocytosis, canine blood. A nucleated erythrocyte (metarubricyte) is present in the upper left and a basophilic, spherical Howell-Jolly body is present in a polychromatophilic cell in the upper right, Wright-Giemsa, 100X oil immersion.
