Trypanosoma cruzi Trypomastigote (Thin Blood Smear)
This image shows a T. cruzi trypomastigote in a thin blood smear stained with Giemsa. Only trypomastigotes are found in the blood of an infected person. Trypomastigotes have a centrally located nucleus and an undulating membrane and are typically motile during microscopic examination.
