Renal Cortical Necrosis
Renal cortical necrosis is characterized histologically by necrosis of glomeruli and tubules. Necrosis in this biopsy specimen is manifest by small nuclei and ghostlike outlines of cells (periodic acid-Schiff stain, ×400).
