Use of Lefamulin During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

When lefamulin was given to pregnant animals, some harmful effects on the fetus were observed, but no well-designed studies have been done in pregnant women. Pregnant women should be given an alternative drug until better safety data are available. Females of reproductive age should use contraception while taking lefamulin and for 2 days after the last dose.
