Down Syndrome Karyotype

Down Syndrome Karyotype

A karyotype is an individual person’s complete set of chromosomes. The term also refers to a laboratory-produced image of a person’s chromosomes isolated from an individual cell and arranged in numerical order.

This computer-generated illustration of a karyotype shows the arrangement of chromosomes in a male with Down syndrome (trisomy 21).
